As a response to Samya Arif’s piece “Women of my land”, I wanted to elaborate the overlap of resistance and social media specially for women. Within our cultural norms, it is considered a sin for women to share themselves in public, here being social media. They’re given titles and cursed as much as they are enjoyed. My point being, not every rebel is ill-mannered but not every rebel is happy either. It takes an immense amount of courage to put up a mask and this piece elaborates the effort required to even think about being one, the chaos at the back of mind, the white noise.
